Position Overview

A Geriatric Nurse have to be specialized in providing comprehensive care to elderly patients, focusing on their unique health needs and promoting their overall well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for elderly patients with chronic illnesses and age-related conditions.
  • Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Monitor patients' health status, including vital signs, medication management, and response to treatments.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding aging, health management, and available resources.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring the dignity and comfort of patients.
  • Advocate for the needs and preferences of elderly patients, promoting their autonomy and quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of geriatric care protocols and policies.
  • Stay current with advancements in geriatric nursing practices, technologies, and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent; certification in geriatric nursing is preferred.
  • Valid nursing license to practice in Germany.
  • Previous experience in geriatric nursing or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in German and English (both written and spoken).
