As the company’s senior legal authority, you will safeguard compliance with German and EU laws, oversee corporate governance, contracts, immigration, employment, and data‑protection matters, and act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities. This is a pivotal role for a dynamic organization, ensuring lawful operations, minimizing risks, and providing expert guidance to the CEO and all departments."

Position Overview

The Legal Affairs Manager is the senior legal authority responsible for safeguarding the company’s legal standing, ensuring full compliance with German and EU laws, and managing all corporate, commercial, immigration, employment, and data-protection requirements. This role oversees the legal framework of DastN’s diverse operations, including relocation and immigration services, digital transformation projects, outsourcing activities, partnerships, and internal business processes. The Legal Affairs Manager acts as the primary contact for German authorities, ensures lawful business conduct, and provides expert legal guidance to executive leadership and all internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Corporate Governance & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with German corporate laws, manage registrations, filings, and governance workflows.
  • Contracts & Risk Management: Draft, negotiate, and review contracts; conduct due diligence; identify and mitigate legal risks.
  • Employment Law & HR Compliance: Oversee adherence to German labor laws, validate employment structures, and support HR in lawful processes.
  • Immigration & Relocation: Manage legal procedures for non‑EU recruitment, visas, residence permits, and act as liaison with immigration authorities.
  • Social Insurance & Workplace Safety: Ensure compliance with social insurance, occupational safety, and public law requirements.
  • Data Protection & GDPR: Enforce GDPR compliance, manage data processing agreements, and oversee digital legal frameworks.
  • Authority Relations & Representation: Act as primary contact with German authorities, handle audits, inspections, and external legal communications.
  • Internal Policies & Compliance Frameworks: Develop corporate policies, conduct legal audits, train employees, and maintain compliance calendars.
  • Risk Assessment & Executive Advisory: Continuously assess legal risks, advise the CEO and leadership, and ensure legality in strategic planning and expansions.

Must Have

  • Master’s degree in Law (LL.M) or German Staatsexamen preferred.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in legal roles within Germany, ideally in corporate, immigration, or commercial sectors.
  • Deep understanding of German labor law, corporate law, immigration regulations, administrative procedures, and GDPR.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, advisory, and compliance-management skills.
  • Experience interacting with German governmental bodies and handling audits.
  • Fluency in English and German (written and verbal).
  •  High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and professional judgment.

Preferred Skills
