Position Overview
The Recognition Specialist oversees the end-to-end process of foreign credential recognition for candidates relocating to Germany. This role ensures that academic degrees, vocational certificates, and professional licenses obtained abroad are evaluated and accepted according to German standards (via anabin, IHK, and other authorities). By coordinating with candidates, institutions, and German authorities, the specialist secures formal recognition decisions or bridging measures, enabling access to employment, training, and visa opportunities. In doing so, the position plays a strategic role in supporting DastN’s mission of delivering smooth, compliant, and credible international mobility

Responsibilities
- Assessment & Eligibility Evaluate foreign academic, vocational, and professional credentials; verify equivalence via databases (e.g., anabin); and identify regulated professions and responsible German authorities.
- Authority Coordination Manage communication with IHKs, Handwerkskammer, ZAB, and other recognition bodies; oversee applications, translations, notarizations, and fee processing.
- Candidate Guidance & Documentation Support candidates through the recognition process, ensure complete and certified documentation, coordinate with internal teams and partners, and track progress in ERP/CRM systems.
- Bridging & Follow-Up Implement required bridging measures such as training, adaptation courses, or exams; coordinate with providers; and ensure recognition outcomes align with visa, employment, and relocation processes.
- Quality Assurance & Reporting Maintain workflows, templates, and checklists; monitor regulatory updates; and prepare reports on recognition volumes, success rates, timelines, and process improvements.
Must Have
- 2–4 years in marketing coordination, client communication, or project management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, International Relations, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in credential recognition, international education consultancy, immigration services, or relocation operations.
- Good knowledge of German recognition systems (anabin, IHK, ZAB) and regulated professions in Germany.
- Excellent documentation management and organisational skills; ability to work with translations, certified documents, fee payments, and case tracking.
- Strong communication skills in English; German
proficiency is a significant plus. Ability to coordinate among candidates, internal
service teams, external training providers, and German authorities.
