What it costs

The German licence, the driver qualification and visa fees are often paid by the employer. It depends on the job offer, and we tell you before anything is due.

Questions

Your licence is valid in Germany for the first 6 months, but not for work as a professional driver. For that you need a German or EU licence and the driver qualification. Licences from some countries, for example Ukraine, Serbia, Albania and Kosovo, can be exchanged. From most other countries you take the theory and driving test, but driving school is not compulsory.

It is the EU proof that you are trained as a professional driver. Drivers from outside the EU usually take the accelerated basic qualification in Germany. Since 18 August 2026 its theory exam is offered in German and 9 other languages, including Arabic, English, Russian and Turkish.

The law sets no fixed level for this visa. But you need German for the exams, for safety and for daily work. A2 or B1 makes everything easier. You can register now and keep learning.

For trucks you must usually be 21, for buses 24. In some cases it is lower after the driver qualification. For both you need a medical certificate and an eye test from a doctor.

There is no special rule for these jobs. You usually need at least 2 years of experience in the last 5 years, a state-recognised training of 2 years or more from your country, and a job that pays at least 45,630 EUR a year (2026) or pays by collective agreement. We check your case honestly.

Driving licence (both sides), proof of work experience, training certificates, passport and CV. Please do not send them now. We ask for them after the profile check.

DastN never asks you for money for registering or for a job offer. Our only phone and WhatsApp number is +49 30 466901111 and our emails end in @dastn.com.
