Your route to Germany in 5 steps

One contact person from your registration to your first working day.

1

Register

Fill in the form below. It takes about 5 minutes. No documents needed yet.

2

Profile check

We review your qualification, experience and German level and tell you which route fits.

3

Recognition and language

We prepare your recognition file. Most nurses then take a knowledge exam or an adaptation course. You improve your German to B2.

4

Employer interviews

With your consent we present your profile to German care employers. Interviews are usually online.

5

Visa and start

With a job offer you apply for the visa, often as a recognition partnership: you work in Germany while you finish the recognition.

Time: usually several months. It depends on your documents, your German level and the visa appointment.

Shorter nursing training or unfinished studies?

Germany has clear rules for these cases. Here is what is possible.

From 1 January 2027

Completed nursing diploma of about 2 years

In 2027 Germany introduces the new profession nursing assistant (Pflegefachassistenz, 18 months of training). A completed foreign nursing training can then be recognised as Pflegefachassistenz after an exam or an adaptation course of up to 18 months. Register now and choose “Shorter nursing diploma”. We contact you when this route opens.

Studies started but not finished

Germany cannot recognise a qualification that is not completed. Your route is a nursing training in Germany with a training visa. Choose “Nursing student or unfinished studies” in the form and we tell you about training places.

Documents you will need later

  • Nursing diploma and transcript with subjects and hours
  • Proof of your work experience
  • German language certificate
  • Passport, valid for at least 18 months
  • CV in table form
  • Certified German translations (we tell you which ones)

Please do not send documents now. We ask for them after the profile check.
